Yup, I completed a short backwards brick today. My brother said it didn’t matter which order my workouts were done in, as long as I got both of them in. I guess that’s okay, right?
A little change of scenery today:
I took my training to the beautiful little city of Sunnyvale, and today’s “hub” was my grandma’s house. I opted to ride my bike first, and then hit the pool afterwards. I was pressed for time today, so I only fit in a short distance. But anything is better than nothing.
I think I went a little bit slower today, but that’s okay. I ended up biking to the office. Yea, who rides their bike to their work on their day off? This girl. I popped my head in to say hi to my coworkers and stayed for a few minutes before I took off back to grandma’s.
The swimming portion of my workout didn’t go as planned; my cousin and nephew wanted to join me in the pool. I got as much done as possible before I needed to tend to my nephew. (He’s 2 and needs someone to hold him in the pool.) I only managed an eighth of a mile, and I’m okay with that.
Oh, and great news today! I am registered for the Folsom Sprint Triathlon, my first sprint ever! (Or is it my second? I guess it’s the second, because the Mermaid Triathlon was considered a sprint on their terms… Hm.) Anyway, I am super excited to be participating. It features a 1/2-mile swim, 19-mile bike and 3.1-mile run. As usual, the swim will be my more challenging discipline; I will make up any lost time on the bike. My mom will be tackling the long course, and my baby brother will be on the Olympic course. This is going to be so exciting!
I’ve been voting throughout the day for my good friend, Christine, as she is one of the finalists for a chance to win entry in the Nike Women’s Marathon SF event taking place in October. If you have some free time, please take a moment to vote for her as well! Thank you! 🙂
Well, the rest of the day is mine to do whatever I choose. I feel like crocheting something up, yet I’m not sure what. I’m not inspired by anything in particular right now, so I guess I’ll go browse some websites.
I hope everyone is having a great Hump Day!
